Dress Code

Dress Code Policy

At South Florida Homeschool Dances, we seek to honor Christ in all that we do—including the way we present ourselves. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that reflects Christian values, modesty, and respect for ourselves and others. We ask that all students and guests choose attire that demonstrates these principles.

Dance attire should reflect your “Sunday best” or “awards night” attire.
We understand that fashion trends come and go, but modesty remains timeless. While interpretations may vary, we encourage everyone to err on the side of modesty and formality, keeping in mind that this is a Christ-centered event.

Important Notice:
Students and/or their guests who are not in dress code will not be permitted to enter the dance, and tickets will not be refunded.

Dress Code Guidelines
These are guidelines to go by.  We understand there are many shapes and sizes to us and finding the perfect, affordable dress is tough.  Use these guidelines to help search for the right dress while also keeping it modest.

Ladies
  • Dresses may not be shorter than 6 inches above the knee or down to the tip of the middle finger for taller students (front and back). This includes any slits in the dress.
  • The back of attire may not be lower than the elbow when arms are at the sides.
  • Attire exposing the midriff is not allowed.
  • Cutouts in the front of attire are not permitted. Fabric covering a cutout must be opaque and permanently sewn into the dress.
  • Attire must not be low-cut in the front; necklines should not be lower than the armpit. Be cautious with halter-style or strapless dresses featuring a sweetheart neckline.
  • Torn or distressed clothing (including jeans with holes) is not permitted.
Gentlemen
  • Attire for young men is typically, dress pants and a button-down shirt.
  • Many young men opt to wear a tie and jacket as well.
  • Jeans and/or shorts are not appropriate.  These dances are semi-formal to formal.

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and support as we work together to provide a Christ-honoring and teen-friendly environment where our homeschool community can enjoy fellowship, fun, and Godly celebration.

If you have any questions about attire, send us pictures or just reach out ([email protected]) prior to the event so we can help ensure your student is ready for this special evening.
